We collect information you provide when you create an account (name, email, password), submit a contractor listing (business details, license, insurance), submit a lead request (contact info, damage description), write a review, or contact us. We also automatically collect IP address, browser type, device info, pages visited, and time on site via cookies and tracking technologies.

We use collected information to: • Connect homeowners with local water damage contractors • Process contractor listings and lead requests • Send transactional emails (verification, approval, lead notifications) • Improve platform features and user experience • Detect and prevent fraud • Comply with legal obligations • Send marketing emails (only with consent, easily unsubscribable) We do not use automated decision-making that produces legal effects.

We share your information only in these cases: • With Contractors: Your contact info is shared when you submit a lead request • With Service Providers: Supabase (database), Resend (email), Vercel (hosting) — all bound by data processing agreements • For Legal Compliance: When required by law or court order • Business Transfers: If WaterDamageConnect is acquired We NEVER sell, rent, or trade personal information to third parties for marketing.

We use: • Essential Cookies: Required for authentication and core functions — cannot be disabled • Analytics Cookies: Help us understand platform usage — can be disabled via browser settings • Preference Cookies: Remember your settings Disabling non-essential cookies will not affect core functionality.

• Account data: Until you delete your account • Lead requests: 2 years for dispute resolution • Reviews: Until you request deletion • Analytics: 26 months • Contractor listings: 3 years after last activity Upon deletion, personal data is removed within 30 days except where required by law.

We protect your data with: • TLS/SSL encryption for all data in transit • Bcrypt password hashing — no plain text passwords stored • Restricted database access • Regular security reviews • SOC 2 compliant hosting (Vercel + Supabase) No internet transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

WaterDamageConnect is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their information. If we discover such data was collected, we delete it immediately. Contact privacy@waterdamageconnect.com if you believe a child's data was collected.

Our platform links to contractor websites and social media. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Review privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.

We may update this policy periodically. Material changes will be communicated via email (if you have an account) and by updating the date above. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
